Vote for
America's
Favorite Farmers'
Market
We know that shopping at a public farmers market
is one of the best ways to support farms, farmers, communities, and
local economies, just by filling-up on delicious and fresh food.
That is why American Farmland Trust is holding the first ever
America’s Favorite Farmers Markets contest.
Please support the Staunton/Augusta Farmers'
Market and local agriculture by casting your vote!

NOTICE:
Governor Tim Kaine and the Virginia Department of Agriculture and
Consumer Services have issued a challenge to all Virginians to eat
local. In addition, VDACS is asking for original recipes used to
prepare locally grown, processed and produced products and a photo
of the prepared product and/or the person who prepared it. These
will be posted at
www.virginiagrown.com. Winners will be chosen in two categories
- one for adults and one for children 12 years of age or younger -
by random drawing to receive a Virginia Grown prize package. The

Wednesday
Market
"Verona:
On market days the squares are
piled high with garlic and most
every sort of vegetable and fruit.
The people shout, throw things,
scuffle, laugh and sing all day
long. The mild climate and cheap
food make life easy for
them."
